Kathiwada Raaj Mahal
Getting to Kathiwada is easy - frequent direct flights from all urban metros bring you to Vadodara (2 hour drive to Kathiwada) or Ahmedabad (3.30 hour drive to Kathiwada). The Gujarat state highways and toll roads make for a pleasant and smooth ride all the way thru and across the border to Kathiwada, which sits on the Madhya Pradesh side.
En route Kathiwada from Vadodara airport is the site of Champagner. This famous archeological park dating back to the 16th century has elements of 8th & 14th centuries is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Another site of interest are the Bagh caves (2 hour drive east of Kathiwada). These rock-cut monuments are renowned for their mural paintings by ancient masters date back to the 5th century or earlier.
